ADHD Clinical Diagnostic Assessment
We offer ADHD-specific clinical diagnostic assessments for adults. These evaluations aim to clarify concerns related to focus, attention, impulsivity, and executive functioning, whether for personal understanding, therapeutic planning, or referral to additional care.
Our ADHD-focused evaluations combine a comprehensive and structured clinical interview, standardized symptom rating scales, and a review of current functioning to determine whether ADHD symptomatology is present and how it may be impacting daily life. This process is efficient, collaborative, and consistent with current clinical guidelines. As part of the assessment, we may also gather collateral information from individuals who know the client well, such as parents, partners, teachers, or caregivers, to provide additional insight into the client’s daily functioning, developmental history, and interpersonal relationships.
What Our ADHD Assessment Includes:
Structured clinical interview exploring history, symptoms, and functional impact
ADHD-specific screening tools and self-report measures
Collateral interviews with key informants (e.g., parents, teachers, partners)
Assessment of academic, social, and/or occupational functioning
Clinical impression and, when appropriate, diagnostic determination
Brief written documentation for providers, schools, or referrals (upon request)
These assessments are often sufficient for initiating therapy, discussing medication options with a medical provider, or seeking basic accommodations in educational or workplace settings.
Is This Right for You?
This type of ADHD assessment may be a good fit if:
You are exploring whether ADHD may be present
You need guidance and treatment planning
You prefer a practical, time-sensitive evaluation
You want to work with a team that can both assess and provide ongoing support
This is not the same as a comprehensive educational or neuropsychological evaluation. Those assessments are more extensive, often involving cognitive, academic, and psychological testing. They are typically used in school settings or legal contexts and may be required for documentation such as IEPs, 504 plans, or disability determinations. If you believe a full educational or neuropsychological battery may be required, or you are unsure, we can help you determine the best path forward or refer you to a trusted provider.
Please set up a consultation with us in New Jersey or New York to get an assessment for you, or your child, adolescent, or teenager.
